He is in NYC, I am in UT

13.5.13

Well, my sweetheart is off on an adventure! 6 long weeks in the big NYC all by himself  :( I miss him so much already. Sometimes I really don't realize how much he does for me until he is away for a few days, or this time a few weeks. Today I was talking to him on the phone and I told him that I have only eaten prepared foods since this morning because he is usually the one who cooks :) He said he knows :)

The day that he left we drove to SLC in the early afternoon to do some last minute clothes shopping and to spend a fun day together. I had to drive on the highway the whole way to the city. I usually don't drive on the highway, I just haven't done it a lot so it still scares me a little bit, but Sean insisted that I drove all the way because I didn't bring someone with me to drive back with and I needed all the practice I could get. Sean wanted me to bring someone with me, a sister or a cousin, but I just wanted some time to myself to self loath in the car, my face looked like this :''''(  and that is not something anyone should see.

So, here are just a few from SLC

look at that bag! it's almost as big as him!
HE BROUGHT A RICE COOKER :) but not a pillow, thank goodness for nice roommates :)

kisses and hugs
can't wait until he is back

And here are the first couple from NYC
Sean said it's a little bit of a culture shock to see all the bums and homeless people

Yay for summer adventures! I am stuck in school for 5 more weeks!
I will survive! (yes, that is my theme song for the next 6 months until I graduate)

easy diy valentine ♥

14.2.13

Here's a super simple tutorial on how to make a valentine for your special someone {or a friend} All you need is:
Love ♥
heart shaped paper doilies
glue
cutting knife
scissors
card paper or scrapbook paper
an envelope
and a loving message ♥
Write a message on the doilie and cut out the letters ♥
Make sure your paper card fits into the envelope, if not cut it to fit :)
Glue the doilie message on the card and you're ready to go!
I glued the envelope shut with a giant heart, just to be extra cute-sie ♥
Don't forget to label the envelope to your special someone ♥

Happy Valentines Day!

snowman adventures!

9.2.13

the light was amazing, much more beautiful in person

we even made tunnels, you know you've all done it before ;)

a snow gentleman with a bow tie :) he was almost as tall as I am :)

So this happened! One of my friends and I decided to go play in the snow {without snow pants} we started when it was light and finished when it was dark, hence the light to dark pictures :) and ok, playing in the snow without snow pants is sooooo cold! the only positive thing about it, your limbs eventually go numb! hahaha!
Creating memories, oh what we wouldn't do!

Meg

PS do you have snow where you live? if so, what is your favorite thing about it?

blueberry cornmeal butter cake

27.1.13

You'll want to eat the batter :)

For Christmas my father-in-law gave both of us Amazon gift cards, while Sean bought design books, I knew exactly what I wanted. A little while ago I saw The Smitten Kitchen cookbook here and totally wanted to get it, so finally it's here {and it's beautiful} and my goal is to cook every single recipe from it this year! Plus, the author has a little story to go along with every recipe :) About a week ago my lil sister and I were hanging out and decided to make the blueberry corn cake, it was SO GOOD! just perfect with a cup of tea. Can't wait to try the rest of the recipes!

What is your favorite cookbook?

a little bit of leftovers....that is of christmas!

12.1.13

I've been meaning to share these pictures with the world for a while now, but this and that would come up {and sometimes I am just plain lazy} and they would be filed away in the back of my brain. These were a part of our 12 Dates of Christmas. By the way, did we finish the dates? no. But, did we have fun trying to? absolutely. I made dinners that I have never made before, we watched movies, cleaned the house, sledded, shopped, went on a little trip and muchmuch more....and the most important part, we made time for each other during the entire break. Seriously, not a day went by that we didn't do something together, it was pretty much the awesomest break in our school-going history. Speaking of school, it's on again! And I am finally taking classes that I am interested in and happy to get ready for :) big big smile for that! And I should also go to bed, so I can have enough energy to do my homework tomorrow and not on Sunday {another new year goal}! Goodnight all.

I seriously can't believe that today is the New Years Eve! Last night my friends and family in Russia welcomed 2013 and tonight I am going to do the same! Happy New Year everyone! Thanks, as always, for supporting me, commenting and reading this little project of mine! 50 posts is definitely more than I have ever written in my journal in a year and that's not including the times that I actually did write in my real journal. I have really enjoyed this blogging community and am planning on continuing next year {tomorrow :)}

christmas day recap ♥

26.12.12

I feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful Christmas this year! Not only did it snow and make a beautiful winter wonderland for us to wake up to on Christmas morning, but we also had the whole day to spend with our family and each other. It was truly an amazing Christmas! I am so grateful that we have the Savior as the reason for this celebration, I know that I can be thankful for everyone and everything that I have because of him.

Sean and I woke up at 10am!! Seriously, we slept in on Christmas and it was the best! First, Sean got up and turned on the heater to warm up the house and then we both got up and opened gifts from each other. It was so much fun that we forgot to take any pictures! haha! I think that's the best indication of a fun time for us, when we forget to take pictures :) Here are some pictures from the rest of our Christmas day :)

a whole herd of deer in the backyard
one simply can't go without a snowball fight when there is so much snow around ;)

mom and dad and our furry sibling Purcy ;)

the snow, it was all over us!

I hope you are all enjoying this holiday season!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
